The line stop technique makes it possible to temporarily isolate part of a pipeline system from the rest of the network without interrupting operations. Whether it’s repairing a small leak or relocating a large section of pipeline, Tonisco Service offers a customer-oriented, flexible solution that can be adapted to any main pipeline – using the most compatible fittings and components on the market.
The process effectively replaces a shut-off valve – especially when there is no functioning valve nearby. The process begins with the welding of a stopple fitting. If the pipe material cannot be welded or welding is not permitted, a mechanical clamp band is used as an alternative. Tonisco Service then mounts the temporary stop valve on the saddle connection and drills the hole.
Once the hole has been successfully drilled, a mechanical stopper head is inserted into the pipe and activated to reliably interrupt the flow. Tonisco uses plugs with a high tolerance range that are suitable for both new and older pipes, regardless of their condition.
